As a candidate in the M.S. in Library and Information Science program at Pratt Institute, I look through the lens of metadata management, data science, and information design to consider how information systems can either dismantle barriers to access or fortify them, and, when it’s the latter, how we can work to break those structures down for more equitable access.
My toolkit bridges library practice and data science. I program in Python, gather data through web scraping and APIs, design relational databases in SQL, and apply data analysis, visualization, and machine learning to understand collections and the people who use them.
I am an information systems professional who shows up for my community, learning about user groups and providing reference, description, and instruction services grounded in their lived experiences. Whether I am building metadata schemas, designing digital collections, or writing code to transform and analyze data, I work to make my systems generative places: not only where users can find themselves reflected back, but where they can take part as well.
